Little House on the Prairie Season 2 adds Willa Dunn as Nellie, Netflix says

Nellie and the schoolteacher join the cast

Netflix Tudum announced on Oct. 9, 2026 that production had wrapped on Season 2 of Little House on the Prairie, naming Willa Dunn as Nellie Oleson. The update establishes a production milestone and introduces additions to the cast. The update does not give a premiere date or country availability for the second season.

According to Tudum, Dunn will play the rival of Laura, portrayed by Alice Halsey. Rachelle Lefevre joins as Eva Beadle, the local schoolteacher, while Charlotte Sullivan will play Nellie’s mother, Margaret Oleson. Those roles bring both a schoolhouse figure and members of the Oleson family into the announced Season 2 cast.

Tudum’s description presents Nellie as confident and cutting, but also easily hurt. Her hostility toward Laura sits alongside a desire for friendship that she struggles to express. That is the character outline Netflix supplies for Dunn’s role, including a more vulnerable side beneath Nellie’s bullying behavior.

More Walnut Grove neighbors and an Ingalls relative

The additional casting introduces several members of the Perry household. Tudum lists David Wronko as Thomas Perry, Elyse Levesque as his mother, Emma, and Paul Greene as his father, Luther, a grain buyer and banker. It also names Erik Athavale as Reverend Alden and Ryan Northcott as store owner William Oleson. Together, these announced roles place more of the town’s families, businesses and community institutions around the Ingalls family.

The family additions include Scott Porter as Peter Ingalls, Charles’s older brother, according to Tudum. Other announced arrivals include Jacinta Forest Lewitski as farm manager Hannah Walker, Lyla Porter-Follows as widowed farm owner Lena Nelson, and Martin Roach as blacksmith Simon Hughes. Tudum identifies Rebecca Sonnenshine as the adaptation’s showrunner and an executive producer, overseeing this next chapter in Walnut Grove.
