Nintendo sets Mario Tennis Fever tournament for October 24

Registration and eligibility

Nintendo is inviting players to compete in the Mario Tennis Fever Open October 2026 on October 24, with an opening bracket scheduled for 10 a.m. PT. The company says the final four competitors will then appear in a livestream beginning at 1 p.m. PT, with play continuing until a champion is decided.

According to Nintendo, entry requires registration through Battlefy during a window running from October 5, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT to October 24 at 9:30 a.m. PT. Its tournament notice also lists eight prize packages in total and says potential winners will receive notification within 10 days after the competition concludes.

Nintendo limits entry to legal residents of the United States, including Washington, D.C., and Canada aged 13 or older, and legal residents of Mexico aged 18 or older. Participants must have access to the game and a Nintendo Switch 2, plus a Nintendo Account, a dependable high-speed internet connection and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. These requirements apply alongside registration.

A different bracket for the final four

Nintendo describes the opening stage as one-on-one competition using a best-of-three format in a single-elimination bracket. That stage continues until four players remain. Those players move into a double-elimination bracket for the livestreamed portion, so the announced competition changes bracket structure between the opening round and the concluding stage.

Nintendo specifies shared match settings for both brackets. Players may choose any character and any Fever Racket, while the singles setup permits one Fever Racket. Matches use Extended Play, with one set, two games and a tiebreaker enabled. The designated venue is Stadium Court with a grass surface, and the ball setting is Standard Ball. The public setting is disabled.
